The Wind-Up Bird ChronicleThe Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Apparently, this is the story of an ordinary man, whose wife throughout six years suddenly leaves him for another man and doesn’t want to see him ever again, but little by little Haraki Kurakami reveals that nothing is quite what it seems to be. And apparently, the genre of this book is magic realism, but then, maybe not.

I rarely give five stars to a book (or anything else for that matter), and I find some of the passages of the book lengthy, but the complex story showing a deep psychological insight of the human mind and emotions (you can’t help wondering if he can read your mind, too), which he tells us with tiny everyday actions, makes Murakami stand out.

Enjoy this book and be prepared that you may not understand everything all along.
