The best books I have read over the years

with No Comments

Did you finish your last book? Don’t know what to read next? I have suggestions for you.

The following is a list of books that I ‘ve read over the years, and which I think has told a good story, been exciting, well-written or otherwise separated out and stored in my memory as readable.

The list will be in a continuous process – including the adding of relevant links – so drop by from time to time to check out for new books.

The best books I have read over the yearsDon’t forget the old books

This is also an invitation to you, the reader, not only to read the latest books on the top 10 list in the supermarket but occasionally also return to earlier releases. A book that no one reads is a dead book, and there are lots of amazing stories that are still worth reading, even if they were written many years ago.

What should your time reading be spent on?

I like a good adventure (broadly defined  and a good thriller, you will probably quickly spot when you look through the list, but I have read everything over the years ranging from comic books, classics, all too sweet romance stories, humorous books, satire, science fiction, suspense, epic stories, historical novels, autobiographies to non-fiction. I have not been critical (do you, for instance, remember Barbara Cartland and the Bill & Ben books from the 1980s?), if only I was entertained, but with age, I must admit that I have become more careful with what my precious reading time should be spent on.

Holiday reading

A good holiday package (which I usually borrow at the library ) typically contains a biography, a historical book, a love story, a thriller and one or two crime books.

But it was the list we came from …
